Long ago a pilgrim was making his way through the country. He had already made a long way and had to decide often, how to continue. As time passed he was getting more and more uncertain, because he began to think whether he was still on the right way. One day he came to a crossroads and didn’t know how to continue anymore. He stopped and started to think about it, but the longer he thought about it the more uncertain he became. He sat down sadly putting his head in his hands and started to weep.

A tillerman passing by found him in this condition. He stopped and asked: “Why are you so sad and desperate?” The pilgrim looked up thinking: “How should an old tillerman be able to help me?” Nevertheless he answered: “I am on my way for so long and now I don’t know the right way anymore!” The tillerman laughed and said: “You fool, don’t you know that all ways are connected and start right here were you are sitting. If you take one of them, you will make an experience. I you go another, you will make another. And the day you have walked them all, you’ll be t the and of your journey.” The pilgrim thought about it briefly and asked: “But how do I know which experience is important for me right now?”. The tillerman replied: “If you are conscious of where your energy flows, where it is more bright, you can easily decide. But be assured, there is no wrong way.”

The pilgrim rose, thanked the tillerman, looked around and happily made his way on.

This short story was inspired by a song of Don Mc Lean
