    re: my suggestions

     Hi Nick,

I read some of yr books and have just joined the IE Club and I'm sure I can learn a lot from u. However, as I am physically in Hong Kong and coming to UK for a day seminar is just not on, I wonder if u would be offering e-courses or distance-learning to people like me in the near future. I am getting fed up teaching English privately to local kids after 8 yrs and I have got to the stage of having my own biz...while actively seeking work as a writer / editor which is my passion. There's so much I'd like to do and I just can't focus on one thing...pls help.

p.s. I don't particularly like teleclasses as I can't possibly be in front of my laptop at a certain time; never mind the time difference!

    Regards,

    Rosa

     Hi Rosa

Yes, not exactly convenient for you to come to one day workshops! We do have some online programmes already and will be developing a couple more. Here are the current ones:

By all means ask some specific questions and I'll do my best to help. I wasn't sure - do you have your business now? Are you writing and editing now?

    Re: re: my suggestions

Hi Nick, that's very generous of u. I have been teaching English privately for 8 yrs now and loving it...I really enjoy the bonding and playing an important role in the lifes of my students but the downside to it is phenomenal: irregular income, too many school holidays, no income during July-Aug due to summer holidays...I am doing it becoz it pays the bills but I'm getting fed up running around and coming up with new materials / curriculum for them. Writing and charity work are my passions and it's my dream to be a successful author (one day) and prior to that be able to work as a staff writer for a major publisher. Meanwhile, I'd also like to have my own biz working from home sharing my knowledge and ultimately be someone like you who goes on stage and speak! U might think I am a big dreamer but I am confident that I can do it if I can focus and more organised. Where should I start? I feel stuck at this pt in time an that's depressing. I feel I am here on a mission and teaching kids English is only the beginning...

     Hi Rosa

Just a couple of other questions and I'll make a few suggestions:

    1. Have you earned any money entrepreneurially? Outside of an employed environment?

    2. What of your knowledge would you most like to share? What would you speak about?

    Thanks

     Hi Nick,

No. I was trained to be a Bush Flower Essences Practitioner a few yrs back and was keen to make it as my side biz but in vain...I would like to pick it up again somehow. I'd also like to publish my own newsletter and writing freelance on top of teaching.

I guess I am pretty spiritual after reading the whole series of Conversation with God. I am also reading up on Kabbalah and I'd love to facilitate a Kabbalah discussion group in HK. Other than that, I am a New Ager with a broad range of interests including rituals/ ceremonies, space clearing, green issues, humanities, art work, self-healing with different modalities, children writing, etc...Guess my interest lies in raising SELF consciousness and be an activist in various social issues.

    Re: re: my suggestions

OK, thanks for that clarity – I guess my advice would be along these lines:

    1.                   Do something small, even tiny, to become entrepreneurial so you can demonstrate to yourself that one of your ideas works and can create income. The first income you create outside a job is hugely significant. That might be to give your first talk or a flower essence consultation and do you have any other ideas? This would also help you break through your resistance and make it real

    2.                   Write a signature article – something that encapsulates your thinking, spirituality and philosophy – and then once you have created it, see if you can get it published anywhere, even for free.

Can you think of the quickest and easiest ways to create entrepreneurial income? And what you’d like to write about? I honor that you have big dreams, and you can probably make them all come true – and in my experience big dreams usually start with seemingly small endeavours.

    Hope that might help

    Re: re: my suggestions

    Nick,

I remember listening in your "Be An Inspired Entrepreneur" teleseminar last year. You recommended the following (I wrote it down because I loved it!) :

"Start doing what you would love to do whilst you are still employed. You create little by little a business outside your day job.

    -         This takes away a lot of fear

    -         You create income whilst you still have a job (it doesn’t feel scary anymore)

    -         You build up your confidence

Have a big plan of where you want to be in 2-3 years time and how you will get there. Take baby steps."

This is a very powerful advice Nick and I always share this with my clients (I hope you don’t mind) :-)

Rosa, I was feeling like you 4 years ago... Then I came across Nick's book "The Work We Were Born To Do" which inspired me and gave me the courage to change my career (and my life!). I took small steps constantly and I have recently resigned from my corporate job which was draining me. Now I am self-employed and have got a portfolio career (i.e. I use my interests and skills on a variety of activities and projects) and I feel very inspired and happy! The people who tried to discourage me 4 years ago are now envious (this is the best reward - haha!).

You can do it Rosa. Take constant action (no matter how small) and enjoy the journey.

    Best wishes and good luck!

    Hi Rosa,

I find Bush flower essences & Bach flower remedies amazing - so I hope you cn use them in your future business!

I agree with Ebru & Nick, take small steps while you have other income. And try hard to find your passion and focus on ways to make that work - FOCUS! Not like me....

Thank you Nick, I would be honoured to be interviewed by you. My new project will hopefully launch in a couple of months and I would love to talk about it during the interview. Let's have a chat in a few months time and decide how to proceed.

    Best wishes,
