What do you think?? - I'm new at this..please be kind!!

OK, I have just finnished the Ecourse (which I loved!!) Nick suggested (to give me potential business ideas) I think of things that flow from me, things that are so natural to me I can't stop myself doing them. Here is my list:

    • Gossiping  - ...but it DOES come naturally to me and I definately can't stop!!
    • being positive - I consider myself a very positive person. My old boss told me he loved my can-do attitude which I thought was lovely!
    • Writing lists - I write lists about EVERYTHING!!!! I have made mini projects on every house I've been looking at renovating  (I love rustics and live in Italy) and every business Idea I have ever had. Then there was the list of things my best friend and I have to do before we die which I think highlighted my enjoyment of slighly crazy things..?!
    • Organising things - I love organising get togethers, syndicates, my home filing system!! anything!..My husband..though he doesn't like it!!

From this list I was really trying to think of the best business for me and I REALLY don't know. I was thinking maybe a wedding planner service as that would involve lots of organising and list writing (!!) plus I could incorparate slightly unusual weddings to feed my wilder side..maybe boat, snow, hot air balloon, underwater etc weddings. I could target Brits who want to get married where I live, Lake Como in Italy which would solve my language barrier problem.

About me quickly: I moved to Italy a year ago and my Italian is ok but NOT fabulous!! I have limited money but could scrape together maybe £3000. I am 31 and have two children and a fabulously supportive new husband!

I would really like anyone who has the time to tell me what they think of the Wedding Planner idea or anything else they think would suit me. I really don't know what I was born to do!!!!! Nick says that's a mask for "I know what I want to do but don't know how to do it" but realy, I don't! Maybe I'm stuck on the "I think I might know but what if I'm wrong" dilemma???

Quick note!  Since posting the message above I have kicked myself several times for being so wimpy and have gone ahead with the wedding planning idea. (You lot were all hopeless anyway!!!  :o))

I realised after I posted it that I was hoping that you would reply to say you though it was a great idea!! I do feel a bit silly now. I think it was a case of... If you can't make a decision, toss a coin. If you're diasspointed with the outcome, you'll know to to the other one! i.e. I knew what I wanted deep down anyway.

    Hi Sally,

Sorry you had zilch feedback initially!  I must have missed your post somehow.  Thank goodness you managed to sort out your own dilemma anyway (!) and good luck with your idea.  You sound as though you have so much energy I'm sure you'll be hugely successful at it!

    Hi Sally

Apologies for a slow response to your question - if you are excited about it, and remain so consistently, then go for it. I think sometimes we just want someone to affirm and encourage us in our decision and in what we know we want anyway. Maybe this is all you needed. Then the next steps may well be the "how" but they can unfold one at step at a time. Our advice would also be to start as small and easily as possible in case you don't like it. Or go talk with someone who is already doing it to give you a sense of whats involved.

    Cheers

    Hi Sally,

Sounds to me like you have homed in on your strengths - project managing and creativity - which you could apply to multiple things that interest you. One of them being wedding planning. In my view, and I think others will agree, so long as you're using your talents, there is no "wrong". One of your strengths that I sometimes struggle with is applying the logical steps to a good idea (supportive husband, X amount of money to invest in your idea, improve your Italian while you are at it, etc.). You are on a roll - what's stopping you? :-)

    Best,

    Nyokabi
