    yesterday's teleseminar

    Hello

Thanks Nick and Nikki for yesterdays teleseminar, I really enjoyed it.

At the end I was dropped by skype, again, and couldn't hear the final part of it not even say thank you to both of you. I've just listened to the replay.

I also had some more questions that couldn't ask, about twitter. Hope you don't mind if I ask them here :-P

Now that I have finished my freebie, at least the first version of it, I want to focus more on social media.
By the way Nick, I've found very useful your posts in the blog, because I always believed that I would loose much of my time in those avenues and didn't want to engage there. As I see you are so passionate about it I'll give them a try.

    My questions are two:

First, I suppose you can have more than one account on twitter, not sure yet, but how would you handle this situation? Most of my inspiration comes from english speaking people, most of my niche only speaks spanish, Would you have two different accounts or only one and switch language when adecuate?

And secondly, I've begun to receive spam to one of my email accounts and I suspect it is coming from twitter, Is there any way to protect your privacy there? How do you avoid it?

Thanks for the inspiration and I'm looking forward to the next teleseminar :-)

    Lots of love

    Hi Charo,

So glad you enjoyed the Teleseminar :o)

… I think I’d tend to have two separate accounts on Twitter if I was posting in two different languages. If I was subscribing to a Twitter feed and 50% of the posts were in a language I couldn’t understand – I think I’d be much more likely to un-follow. Sounds like you might be best off focusing on your Spanish audience if they’re you’re biggest crowd. Maybe you could translate the best English tweets and retweet them for your Spanish audience?

Are you sure your spam is coming from Twitter? Are they Twitter messages, or did you just notice an increase in general spam around the same time that you joined Twitter? As far as I know, Twitter doesn’t expose your personal contact information. Have you ever Tweeted your personal e-mail address? That would probably be enough to get you in a spammers database…

    Thanks,

    Niki

    Hi Nikki

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I had that feeling too, but loved to have another opinion. I'll have two different accounts.

With respect to the spam, it has begun around the same moment, to one email account I don't use to suscribe anywhere, but I might have sent it to someone, not through twitter though.

Retweet the good ideas? Hadn't thought of that but it's a great idea :-) Somehow I see myself as a connector or translator of ideas which haven't become mainstream in Spain yet. Drives me nuts how many people doesn't speak english here, but maybe that's what I'm here for :-)

    Love
    Charo
