a short link

Can anybody please tell me how can I write one of those shortened links for twitter or even for my newsletter? One of those you see that say tinyurl instead of all the typing.

I haven't got the slightest idea of how to do it.

Sure – you can use a URL shortening service like bit.ly, or if you're tweeting, you can use a Twitter client like HootSuite that has a built in URL shortener.

And also budurl which is quite good as they allow you to also track how many clicks your link has received. They are here - http://budurl.com/
