My Bio

Born in 1958

In my youth I was already touched by the topic of education and helping people leading some groups, e.g. in the boy scouts. Later on I did my civil service (substitute for military service which I refused) in a boarding school where I was responsible for supervising the children during their home work and doing activities with them in their  leisure time. Anyway I decided to study Computer Science which I finished with a masters degree in 1984 (TH Darmstadt). I was working in that profession for over twenty years and parallel raising my two daughters (Julia 25 and Johanna 22) together with my wife Ute.

The guiding principle for me was always

When the children are small give them roots, when they are grown up give them wings.

At the age of forty-two I decided to get back in two people deveopment more (because I feel at heart that this is what I am really here for). I started a coaching education together with my brother Stephan (who is definitely part of my tribe and gives me much encouragement). This went for two years and ended with a Coaching Certificate at Osterberg Institute, Niederkleevez. From that time on besides still being an IT manager at Deutsche Bank I worked in every project (mentoring, supervision of colleagues) I could. But I found out that being employed at Deutsche Bank I would never become a coach. So I quit end of 2005 after eleven years.

I then was self employed fo almost a year working mainly as a project manager and a little bit as a change manager (for Degussa Bank). I should mention that one of the board members is my friend. He then asked me if I was interested in taking on the job of customer service manager which was

a) a reorganization project

b) a huge change management taks

It was fascinating me, so I agreed but at that time already told him that I would start part time working as a coach again after two years latest.

During the last three years I was doing a lot of change management not only in my own department but also in other pats of the bank (especially sales). I also was doing a little coaching (e.g. a candidate for mayor and somebody who was looking for orientation in her professional life) in parallel. And in 2006 I was also participating in a " Train-the-Trainer" programme (Certificate of the Osterberg Institute)
